It seems that programs are offered by various Government institutions and then they vanish as quickly as the money is allocated. It must be darn near impossible to get on the short list in a timely fashion. Once a consumer hears about a program and then figures out how to get on the list, the money is gone. Some banks and relocation firms offer cash back as well. Now they can not require that you use them (the lender’s at least can not do that), but they can and do tie the money to the use of an affiliated agent. Why? Well, the broker pays a referral fee that is then carved up between all the people behind the scenes with a portion going to the buyer or seller. I am one of the designated agents for my broker, and I represent many of the clients that are referred for help.
So I was wondering, what about those of you that are not tied to a lender that offers a program. What about those of you that find me in some other fashion? What about those that happened across my blog, my facebook page, my twitter account….what about them? Should they have the same offer of cash back? After all, they are using me as their agent.
Beginning in January 2015, and until further notice, I will be offering the following rebates to consumers that contact me directly for assistance. The rebate is not available for any consumer that is referred to me by another agent, a relocation company or any other source that is charging me a fee for the referral. I can only hope that the word gets out and if you find me, you do so on your own.
